As Chairman of the Shih Tzu Club (GB), I would like to let you know of the changes to the breed standard, agreed by the Kennel Club and to take effect from 1st November 2016. I am sure it will be of interest to all exhibitors and judges;
At its recent meeting the General Committee approved the following amendment to the Shih Tzu Breed Standard:
Coat Outer coat long, dense, not curly, with moderate undercoat, not woolly. Slight wave permitted. Hair not affecting the dog’s ability to see. Length of coat should not restrict movement. It is strongly recommended that the hair on head is tied up without adornment.
This will be effective from 1 November 2016.
